After a lifetime of looking, on July 19, 2023, Earl (age 75) and Richie Blick (age 50) located what they believed could be the long-lost family property. It was For Sale. The next day, Richie confirmed the property was their long-lost and abandoned ancestral homeplace via researching Deeds and Wills at the courthouse.
On August 2, 2023, the four Blick teenage children located the hard-to-see cemetery.
On November 7, 2023, the Blick Family completed the acquisition of this historic property placing it back in the family name after 104 years.
On November 8, 2023, the Virginia State Corporation Commission approved the nonprofit!
On November 11, 2023, I began clearing access to the home, cleaning out the home, weatherproofing, and securing the home.
On January 26, 2024, Preservation Virginia nonprofit visited the home and cemetery.
On February 22, 2024, the Department of Historic Resources previewed the home and property.
On March 18, 2024, the Blicks were notified the IRS approved the 501(c)(3) retroactive to November 8, 2023.
